Stella was rescued from a shelter in Kansas when she was about one year old.
She was adopted by a nice family with a young daughter who adored Stella. They grew together as a family, a couple years later adding another dog and then eventually a baby brother came. Stella was always good with the kids and the other dog. Ten years later the family has gone through unfortunate changes which left Stella and her dog sister without a place to go. Another family in Kansas took the sister but Stella couldn’t find a home. A family member in California tried to help and found a sanctuary in Arizona willing to take her. They transported her to California and then to the sanctuary in Arizona. Unfortunately there were so many dogs at the sanctuary that a few of them picked on poor Stella so they decided to bring her back to California. This girl now needs a family again, someone to love her and take care of her.
She is an 11 year old boxer mix that is still in good shape and very agile. She was crate trained when she lived with her family in Kansas but seems to enjoy the free lifestyle she has at the moment. She is picking up on a doggy door quickly. She would love another friendly dog in the family for a buddy but would probably be just fine as an only dog too. Never had interactions with cats so would say no to that. Good with all people big and small. She’s been through so much change we just want her to feel safe and loved again.
