Mrs. Tuftsy appears to be a mix - she seems more Maltese than Poodle - we had to shave her because she was completely matted. She is so full of love and life. You will not find a sweeter more submissive dog than Piper - these are her 2 favorite postiions, sitting on the couch and rolling over for belly rubs. Piper loves cats, dogs of any size and children. Authorities rescued a pregnant dog earlier this week that was trapped some 20 feet down a water pipe.A Canyon Lake resident called animal control about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after hearing a dog whimpering far down the grate-covered pipe in his backyard on Lassen Drive, authorities said. Apparently, the man's own dog had showed an unusual interest in the pipe, prompting him to investigate. The dog appears to have gotten into the pipe through an opening with no grate and was stuck in an area obstructed with debris. With the help of water district workers, firefighters and a homeowner with a narrow extension ladder, officers prompted the dog to climb to safety.
