My name is Riley and I’m a two year old neutered, very playful and snuggly Maltese. Right now I’m living with my auntie because my Dad [80] has really bad cancer and is in the hospital. My Mom [70’s] has a lot of her own health issues. They rescued me from a lady who bought me from a breeder, but she had a fatal stroke when I was 4 months old. My Mom and Dad never intended to keep me, knowing I would probably outlive them. But they love me so much and it was hard to let go. Now things have changed and I need a forever home because I’ve got a long life ahead and they do not. My auntie [who is also old] is making sure I get the perfect home. She says I need someone 45-65 who has their own home and at least one person who’s home all day. [Yes, I can be left alone, but I get too lonely after two hours or so.] Another small, gentle, and playful dog would be fun! I LOVE to snuggle and sleep on your bed, play fetch, and go for long walks! I’m perfectly potty trained to go outside, but since I’m only 6 pounds, I need to be on a leash so coyotes and birds don’t mistake me for lunch. You’ll need to have a very welcoming lap because I love nothing better than snuggling in it on my back, paws up.
